The workshop will address three main topics:
- Understanding the PCP instrument
- Discussing feedback for the commission, and providing input for the EC information day in January
- Exploring what specific Digital Preservation Challenge can be the basis for a solid consortium
Members have been sent a presentation about the PCP instrument by Ms. Lieve Bos of the European Commission, and below, a summary. Ms. Lieve Bos will also attend the workshop, which makes our meeting an excellent opportunity to gain detailed understanding of PCP. In addition, a summary of the text of call 11.2.
PCP Summary
- Small consortium of 3-5 public partners with a specific request for a new product. In this particular call, 5 national libraries/archives with a wish for a product in the area of Digital Preservation. The EU prefers to fund 1 consortium in this call for 5 M.
- 5 M is divided as follows: 30% = 1.5 M is for the consortium, funding is 100%. 70% = 3.5 M is for the PCP: subcontracting with private partners. Funding is 75%.
- 1.5 M is used for formulating requirements, open market dialogue, tender, prototype testing, selection. Legal support is also included.
- 3.5 M is intended for the private partners to do their development during the tender procedure, for building prototypes, and for testing in the public partners’ environments etc. The target outcome after two years is an innovative and ready-to-use product.
