Membership Rates

There are two membership categories:

Charter Members

Charter members are organisations responsible for holding digital content for the long term. Examples include Libraries (including university libraries), Archives, Museums, and other cultural heritage organisations.

The cost of Charter membership is tiered, based on the UNESCO developmental index (http://unesdoc.unesco.org/images/0021/002108/210828e.pdf). All members have equal rights and benefits.

Tier 1: £10,000 (UNESCO ranking 1.0 – 22.0)

Tier 2: £5,000 (UNESCO ranking 0.2 – 0.99)

Tier 3: £2,500 (UNESCO ranking 0.001 – 0.199 or with an annual operating budget below £5m)

Affiliate Members

Affiliate Members are organisations with a strong interest in digital preservation. Interests include research, teaching, education, practice, or policies. Examples include University research groups, , library and archive schools, and professional associations.

Tier A: £2,500 and equivalent of 30 person days in-kind*

Tier B: £0 and an equivalent of 50 person days in-kind*

Rates are exclusive of VAT.

Local currency rates can be provided on request.

*Membership rates for 2013–2014 were set by the Board of Directors.
